Sero operates this store and website, including all related information, content, features, tools, products and services, in order to provide you, the customer, with a curated shopping experience (the "Services"). Sero is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use and disclose your personal information when you visit, use, or make a purchase or other transaction using the Services, or otherwise communicate with us.
If there is a conflict between our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy, this Privacy Policy controls with respect to the collection, processing and disclosure of your personal information.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood it.
Personal information we collect
We may collect or process the following categories of personal information, depending on how you interact with the Services:
- Contact details — name, address, billing address, shipping address, phone number and email address
- Financial information — payment card details, transaction details and payment confirmation (processed securely by our payment provider; we don't store full card numbers ourselves)
- Account information — username, password, preferences and settings
- Transaction information — items you view, add to your basket or purchase, and your order history
- Communications — anything you tell us directly, for example a customer support enquiry
- Device and usage information — your device, browser, IP address and how you interact with the Services
Where we get it from

- Automatically through the Services, including via cookies and similar technologies

- From our marketing and advertising partners
How we use it
- To provide and improve the Services — processing payments, fulfilling orders, arranging shipping, managing returns and exchanges, maintaining your account, and enabling reviews
- Marketing — sending you marketing communications where you've opted in, and showing relevant ads, including based on your activity on our site. You can opt out of marketing at any time (see "Your rights" below)
- Security and fraud prevention — authenticating your account and protecting against fraudulent or malicious activity
- Customer support — responding to your questions and maintaining our relationship with you
- Legal compliance — meeting our legal obligations, including responding to valid requests from regulators or law enforcement
Who we share it with
- Shopify and other service providers who support our operations (payment processing, fulfilment, shipping, customer support, analytics)
- Marketing and advertising partners, where you've consented to marketing
- Professional advisers or authorities, where required by law, or to protect our rights, property or safety, or that of our customers
- In connection with a business transaction, such as a merger, acquisition or sale of assets
We do not sell your personal information.
International transfers
Some of our service providers, including Shopify, may process your data outside the UK. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate legal safeguards, such as the UK's International Data Transfer Addendum or equivalent adequacy protections, to ensure your data remains protected to UK standards.
Your rights
As a UK data subject, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Request deletion of your information, where applicable
- Restrict or object to certain processing
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent (for example, marketing emails)
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We'll respond within the timeframes required by law.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, or by calling 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to put things right first, so please contact us before you do.
Children's data
Our Services are intended for adults and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it.
Security and retention
No system is completely secure, and we can't guarantee perfect security of information sent to us. We recommend avoiding unsecured channels for sensitive information. We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the Services, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.
Third-party links
Our Services may link to third-party websites. We're not responsible for the privacy practices of sites we don't control — we'd recommend reviewing their policies separately.
